An introduction to drawing and painting for young people

This is a ten week course/after school club in Visual art for Young People ages 7-11 years. All abilities welcome.

This exciting studio based course for young people aged between 7 and 11 years provides a comprehensive introduction to 2d fine and applied arts. Young people are taught within a small informal and friendly group, and are provided with an opportunity to develop their artistic talent. Topics included are how to draw 3d objects, exploring mark making, learning about colour theory, and looking at the work and life of famous artists.

The course is taught by Alison Day who is an experienced tutor and former youth worker as well as being a practicing artist.

No previous experience needed, all are welcome. Students must have their own sketchbook and basic drawing/painting materials. e.g pencils, watercolour paint and a brush.

The class is taught in a studio that can accommodate up to 5 young people. Alison has a full police check, and is a qualified teacher and youth worker with insurance with Artists Newsletter PPL. Some materials are provided and help with any extras for children who cannot provide some will insured.
