Standby, the light wavers, solo exhibition by Yoojin Lee who explores theme of sleep in a 24/7 world.
SEAGER presents Standby, the light wavers, the first UK solo exhibition of London-based artist Yoojin Lee, curated by independent curator Andrew Price. The exhibition features recent and newly commissioned work, including sound, installation, sculpture and performance. The selected works explore themes of sleep, vulnerability and resilience in a 24/7 world that demands constant activation.
The exhibition Standby, the light wavers encourages reflection on physical and mental states of being, and distinctions between conditions of repose and suspense. It asks an important question. What does it mean to pause in a society driven by capitalist growth, speed and progress? The selected artworks waver between motifs of light/darkness, verticality/horizontality, activity/inactivity and resistance/vulnerability.
