Drop in and help build an outdoor temporary communal clay sculpture. Suitable for all, no previous experience of clay is needed. Stay for a little while or the whole day. Make friends, bring your picnic and a blanket to sit on or buy refreshments from the church volunteers.
Supported by the Creative Change Fund, a grant scheme for local people and organisations leading their own events as part of London Borough of Culture 2022.
At Bethlem Gallery we make art an everyday practice and mental health an everyday conversation through our art programme of open workshops, exhibitions and research. We seek to break down stigma around mental health and influence understanding and policy across the health sector.
Our Clay Links programme of workshops will also enter Lewisham Hospital Ladywell Unit and include patients who are unable to attend public events. We will work with patients and staff to co-design and co-create a mural for the hospital garden.
Karta Kaur is one of our artists, she lives in Lewisham and works with clay, paint, pencil, photography and found materials. She is passionate about art in social engagement settings as a way to uplift and strengthen communities.
11am - 3pm. Drop in at any time and stay as long as you like.
