Beyond Borders

Multiple venues, across lewisham

24 July - 27 August

JUMP TO Events

Taking over venues and outdoor spaces across Lewisham, Beyond Borders will showcase the borough’s explosive Jazz scene and global and contemporary music communities from South Asian to West African and beyond.

An exciting range of activities will take place in the Horniman Gardens, including a Festival of African contemporary music and cuisine hosted by Days Like This (DLT), The Original Jerk Cookout, a festival of Caribbean culture, music and cuisine, and Global Local, a free music event celebrating South Asian music hosted by the legendary Daytimers Collective. There will also be a day time rave for babies, toddlers and families hosted by Big Fish Little Fish presenting musical fun for all the family.

Elsewhere across the borough will be Movimientos, an all-day family friendly event at AMP Studios celebrating South American culture and marking Ecuadorian Independence Day with food, DJs, and Social Records Society, a collective of young DJs, musicians and record collectors launching their first ever residency at Matchstick Pie House and South London’s Balamii Radio takeover the Rivoli Ballroom for a hybrid club event.

This is the third strand of our Revolution Through Music programme, following on from Love is Attention in March and Rebel Music in May.
