Lewisham Calling

JUMP TO Events

Showcasing music from Lewisham’s next generation of producers.

Throughout our year as London Borough of Culture, we have been celebrating Lewisham’s musical heritage. From the poetry of Linton Kwesi Johnson, which was inspired by the activism on our streets, to celebrating our traditions of soundsystem culture, we’ve dug deep into our roots – and now it’s time to hand over the reigns to the next generation.

Lewisham Calling is a programme of seven music events from seven young producers. Following eight weeks of training and workshops, they’ve been busy refining their ideas and planning their line-ups and are ready to invite you to watch some of South London’s best new talent.

From a rap battle to a jazz concert, a jungle fundraiser and an electronic soundscape, this eclectic mix of events shine a light on the breadth of young talent coming out of Lewisham.

The young producers are: Zahra Kiernan, Moziah de Roche, Emily Tran, David Ogbuehi, Paige Michel, Oscar Loughlin and Angel Dust.

This project has been funded by PRS Foundation, Youth Music and Noel Coward Foundation.
