Open the door to your creative future

Are you interested in a career in the creative industries? Maybe you’re not too sure what’s on offer. Don’t worry, we’re here to help.

In 2022 and beyond, we are helping you to step into your Creative Future. With monthly industry talks, a careers fair and regular training and skills-building opportunities, we’ll get you set for the creative careers in your future.

The Creative Futures programme is designed to address and remove barriers into creative careers for young people. 

Creative Futures is running in partnership with the Albany and Goldsmiths, University of London, and the collaborative project Inspire Lewisham.

START: Creative Futures

Are you a young creative, aged 16-25, and looking for support to help you kickstart your career in the creative industries?

START: Creative Futures is Sydenham Arts new, innovative approach to support young people through workshops and mentoring to kickstart their careers and involvement in the creative industries including theatre, dance, music and fashion. Running through June and July 2022.

Behind The Artist: Kickstart Your Career in the Music Industry

A music industry talk on exciting and rewarding roles, and discussions on how to kickstart your career. There will be a host who will be asking questions to a very exciting panel of industry professionals including Grant Leigh Burnham and Joy Stacey, with time for a Q&A. More industry professionals to be announced.

Employment Support Programmes

Employment support programmes at Adult Learning Lewisham can help you gain the confidence you need to get started as part of London Borough of Culture 2022.

Lewisham Thriving Communities: Entelechy Arts are joining forces with Lewisham’s social prescribing network to provide opportunities that support mental health and wellbeing by referring residents to creative programmes that are part of the Borough of Culture.

Business support and Skills Highway: Goldsmiths, University of London will be hosting a series of workshops for Local businesses and budding entrepreneurs to support business growth.

Anyone can learn to code: In partnership with Maiona Coding Adult Learning Lewisham are offering a free six week learn to code training programme for anyone over the age of 18 and not in employment.

Lewisham Creative Futures is funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.

6 Week Digital Marketing Course

Participants will learn all the aspects of digital marketing, the principles, the importance of branding and how to use all social media platforms to advertise effectively. This course is very helpful for those wanting to explore a career in the digital marketing world, and for those who want to start or expand their own business.

Starting Tuesday the 7th June 6pm – 7.30pm
Venue – The Barn @ The Green Man 355 Bromley Road SE6 2RP

Course also available at Honor Oak Youth Club SE4 2JD and 2000 Community Action Centre SE8 3PG.

We will be commissioning training and skills building opportunities for Lewisham’s London Borough of Culture 2022 year.

We are looking for a range of providers that focus on industry specific training across the creative and cultural industries.
