Free family fun for all across the summer

From Deptford to Downham, Lewisham came to life in the summer of 2022 with free activities in our venues, street corners and parks across the borough. 45,000 people attended events such as GAIA and People’s Day, and took part in interactive activities from face painting to dancing to enjoying wonderful shows such as Eko, the giant sea puppet by Autin Theatre.

Grants were also given directly to community libraries, community groups and active park friends groups to stage their own events, from pop-up music stages to workshops and family picnics.
