The Mayor of London’s flagship festival celebrating D/deaf, disabled and neurodiverse artists came to Lewisham.

In the summer of 2022, the flagship festival from the Mayor of London came to Lewisham. The festival showcased ambitious and thought-provoking works from artists, dancers, theatre-makers and drag performers, who want to challenge perceptions of how culture can be performed and experienced by all audiences. The festival featured performance, interactive installations, a thought-provoking symposium, new commissions and participatory workshops for all.

A Manifesto for 2.8 Million Minds

As part of the festival, young people took over Lewisham Shopping Centre to present A Manifesto for 2.8 Million Minds.

Made during 6 months at the beginning of 2022, in partnership with vacuum cleaner, this manifesto outlines a series of art processes and actionable ideas that challenge how and who makes the decisions in the lives of young people’s mental health.
