If you live or work in Lewisham or have visited recently, we are interested in hearing your views on the Borough, on arts and culture and about what it means to be the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture in 2022.

About We Are Lewisham

Lewisham is proud to be the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture 2022. Jointly led by Lewisham Council and the Albany, our year-long cultural programme, We Are Lewisham, will bring together all of our neighbourhoods, communities and stories. From venues to parks and street corners, we will tell the story of Lewisham’s trailblazers past and present via music, dance, debate, public art and more. With a call to action on the climate emergency and a celebration of Lewisham’s diverse communities, We Are Lewisham is inspired by our borough’s rich history of activism and standing up for equality.

London Borough of Culture is a Mayor of London initiative, launched in June 2017. The award puts culture at the heart of local communities, where it belongs. It shines a light on the character and diversity of London’s boroughs and brings culture to everyone, so that all Londoners have the chance to be part of something extraordinary. Waltham Forest was the first London Borough of Culture in 2019, followed by Brent in 2020.
