Strong is a powerful one-woman show based on a true story, following Elena, a British Greek Cypriot single mother whose life is upended when her 15-year-old daughter Lia is diagnosed with cancer. Elena finds herself in a state of constant chaos as she navigates caring for her children, endless hospital visits, holding down her spiralling career and keeping up with her friendships.
With a global pandemic in full force and trying to balance the demands of her well-intentioned but often overbearing family, Elena desperately tries to maintain some sense of normality.
To cope, she walks, sharing her fears and reflections through voice notes to her best friend Charoulla. As she carries not only her own emotions but also the hopes and fears of others, Elena’s journey is raw and deeply human. Despite the weight of her circumstances, Strong celebrates resilience, love, and the healing power of vulnerability, laughter, and simply putting one foot in front of the other.
