Blackheath Art Society was founded by Goldsmiths and Camberwell Art School artist tutors in 1947 in a spirit of hope and regeneration after the war. Nearly 80 years later, the society comprises a well-established group of London-based artists living mainly in the Southeast of London.
The Society holds two exhibitions a year and meets for ‘plein air’ sketching throughout the seasons, among other activities.
The summer exhibition at Gallery White Box presents a selection of paintings, original handmade prints, photography works, and ceramics in a variety of techniques and styles reflecting on the subject, impression, and visual poetry of “LIGHT”.
