This highly engaging, 60-minute interactive show, led by the experienced duo Weird Folk, transforms the principles of global folklore into a celebration of local Deptford and Lewisham values. The Marvellous Myth Hunter arrives at the historic Deptford Market to track a powerful new artifact. Through storytelling and games, this event links myths to three essential local virtues: Resilience, Friendliness, and Creativity. Participants then engage in a workshop to write a story, design, and craft a physical ‘magical market artifact’ from recycled materials, embodying the virtue they wish to see thrive in their community. The project fosters imagination, literary confidence, and strengthens local identity through accessible, high-quality family performance.
