SKRONK is always looking for additional locations for various events in the series and for events which are more accessible for people with limited mobility.
SKRONKFEST, a summer all dayer event, returned last year at The Waiting Room N16. An additional fest could happen in Lewisham if a suitable venue is found.
SKRONK is a free-improvisation open mic night that was founded in 2016 by Rick Jensen.
It ran regularly at New River Studios N4 up until Jan 2024.
In May 2024 it was passed to Nathan Greywater & Tom Spurling and moved to Endeavour, Deptford SE8 where it has run every first and third Tuesday of the month since.
SKRONK is an exercise in mutual respect, listening and responding. Artists from various backgrounds and disciplines (primarily Music and Performance) gather to create a series of short, spontaneous pieces each session and these are recorded and uploaded to bandcamp.
There is often a feature act each session who plays a longer set.
SKRONK is and has always been a non-profit, the only money collected has been through bandcamp donations and this has been spent on earplugs and equipment such as drum sticks, a Zoom handheld recorder and batteries, etc.
